The Trust wants to help charities that can demonstrate they have a transformative impact on the lives of very needy beneficiaries in one or more of three areas: Education, Health and Enterprise.
The Trust’s funding will support organisations and their core programmes rather than individual projects. The aim is to help beneficiaries as organisations are supported to stabilise, professionalise and grow.
Success for us is about: helping to improve the lives of more beneficiaries in more profound ways; supporting strong, professional organisations that can scale; developing the arguments for funding organisations rather than projects.
Crucially however, The Trust wishes to work in partnership to achieve its funding aims. We are a new organisation and want to build on existing skills and experience among South Asian funders rather than seeking to reinvent the wheel.
Accordingly, in addition to organisations putting themselves forward for funding, we invite nominations from existing funders. Preference will normally be given to charities where partners are giving their own financial support and providing hands-on capacity-building support to NGOs.
