Street League, the British Asian Trust’s newest charity partner, has been shortlisted for the Beyond Sport Awards 2011.
One of only 35 organisations selected from some 400 entries from 125 countries, Street League was shortlisted for the Sport for Social Inclusion category. Beyond Sport is a global organisation that promotes, develops and supports the use of sport to create positive social change across the world.
“We are very proud that Street League’s pioneering work using the power of football to engage young people in training, education and jobs has been recognised with this prestigious award,” said TrustProgramme Manager Rabia Nusrat.
By reaching this stage of the judging process, Street League will be invited to attend the third annual Beyond Sport Summit, taking place from 5-8 December in Cape Town, South Africa.
During the summit, shortlisted projects will interact with Beyond Sport’s network of corporate business, government, philanthropy, international aid organisations and sporting federations, all with the ability to significantly impact the reach and capabilities of the sport and development movement.
