She has transformed the lives of tens of thousands of poor women. Her pioneering social enterprise work is being replicated around the world; and people cross continents just to visit her charities in rural Maharashtra, India.
US President Obama consults her, and she has been honoured by a series prestigious national and international awards including Yale World Fellow, Harvard Bridge Builder and Ashoka Changemaker.
Chetna Sinha is the founder of Trust partner Mann Deshi Business School—the world’s only business school for illiterate women – as well as Mann Deshi Mahila Sahkari Bank and the Mann Deshi Foundation.
An economist, farmer and activist, she has been changing the lives of disadvantaged women, their families and their communities in rural India since 1996 by teaching them how to become entrepreneurs.
“I am excited to share my work in empowering rural women by setting up a series of banks for them, getting corporate help, and setting up a business school for them,” said Chetna Sinha.
