Asian Media & Marketing Group Supporting Girls’ Education in India

The Asian Media and Marketing group (AMG) and The British Asian Trust have joined forces to ensure that more girls in Rajasthan, India go to school.

Boris speech at Asian Business AwardsAMG, the UK’s largest Asian publishing house, is supporting charity partner Educate Girls to help the Trust achieve its goal of enhancing the life chances of over 100,000 children, especially girls, in the next three years through access to education.

“We welcome this opportunity to work with the Trust to help girls escape poverty through education,” said Kalpesh Solanki, AMG Group Managing Editor. “Education is a priority for us and a key element of our corporate social responsibility aims. We look forward to working with The British Asian Trust and garnering support through a multi-year relationship across many of our events. Activities will include online, print and personalised mailings through our extensive databases,” he said.

Jaimin SolankiAMG’s Asian Business Awards, the biggest celebration of Asian business success in Britain, was held recently in London. The awards seek to recognise the drive, energy and passion that are the hallmark of Asian entrepreneurship. Now in their 15th year, the awards saw the release of the Asian Rich List 2012 as well as the unveiling of a new design Eastern Eye, Britain’s number one weekly Asian newspaper. The Trust benefitted as Charity of Choice for the awards.

Compered by Trust Ambassador Radio One DJ Nihal, the 30 March event drew more than 800 people, including the country’s most successful entrepreneurs, who heard Trust Executive Director Hitan Mehta describe the high-impact work of Educate Girls.
