Bollywood star inspires schoolchildren
Celebrated Bollywood actress and super model Bipasha Basu met disadvantaged children attending rural schools supported by Trust charity partner, the Bharti Foundation, during the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon.
“Study hard to achieve your dreams,” she told students from Satya Bharti Schools which provide free, high quality education.‘Girls Education’ was the theme of the renowned half marathon held on 1 December. Our partner, the Bharti Foundation, garnered the support of more than 950 runners including Bharti staff, teachers from the Satya Bharti Schools and corporate partners.“We have received enormous support for the Satya Bharti School Program initiative,” said Vijay Chadda, CEO, Bharti Foundation. “Events like these also provide our students with an opportunity to meet and interact with people who have carved a niche for themselves, inspiring them to achieve their dreams.”The British Asian Trust, working on behalf of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, has supported the building and running of one school in rural Punjab providing education to over 200 children.
