Golden Tours, the UK’s leading sightseeing company and part of the Gray Line Worldwide Association, has joined forces with The British Asian Trust to catalyse lasting change in South Asia and the UK.
Support for The British Asian Trust followed a recent visit by Golden Tour’s Founder and Director Nitin Palan to Trust charity partner Saath in India. Saath’s success in securing employment for young people living in urban slums through training and life skills inspired Nitin Palan to unite with the Trust in promoting youth employment.
“I saw for myself how training through Saath is transforming young people’s lives, their families and even their communities,” said Nitin Palan. “Employment lifts young people from poverty to self-sufficiency, and training is the key.”
“By lending corporate support to The British Asian Trust, we aim to provide job opportunities to even more young people surviving in India’s urban slums,” he said. “We take pride in being associated with The British Asian Trust and its pioneering work in South Asia and the UK.”
Trust Chairman Manoj Badale welcomed Golden Tours generous support. “It is particularly gratifying that Golden Tours’ donation came as a result of seeing the Trust at work in the field,” he said. “That is testimony to the effectiveness of our charity partners on the ground in South Asia and the UK.”
