Rubicon, official soft drinks partner of the Friends Life t20, has once again joined forces with The British Asian Trust by pledging to donate up to £10,000 to help transform the lives of people living in the poorest communities in South Asia and UK.
Rubicon’s cricket ambassador and Gloucestershire star Muttiah Muralitharan joins Hampshire captain Dimitri Mascarenhas, ambassador for The British Asian Trust, in the campaign.
“Rubicon is a regular supporter of The British Asian Trust, one of The Prince’s Charities,” said Murali. “This year, for every wicket Dimitri and I take during the Friends Life t20, Rubicon will donate £250 to The British Asian Trust – so we are hoping to take as many wickets as possible!”
The two players will be working towards a target of 40 wickets between them to reach the £10,000, which will be donated at the end of the season. The donation forms part of the 2011 Rubicon Love Cricket campaign, with Rubicon once again supporting The British Asian Trust. In 2010 they worked together to transform the lives of nearly 20,000 disadvantaged children in India and Pakistan.
Manoj Badale, Chairman at The British Asian Trust said, “We are delighted to be working with Rubicon and two cricketing heroes. The British Asian Trust continues to expand its portfolio of work and impact across South Asia, with continued support from our partners such as Rubicon. We would like to wish both Murali and Dimitri all the very best of luck for the season!”
