The British Asian Trust is proud to promote the pioneering work of Teach for India and Teach for Pakistan and the volunteering opportunities they present. “Opening the doors to quality education for disadvantaged children is one of our priorities, so it is an obvious affiliation,” says British Asian Trust Director, Abha Thorat-Shah.
Teach for India (TFI) and Teach for Pakistan (TFP) are national movements of graduates and young professionals who commit two years to teach in under-resourced schools, and go on to become leaders working across all professions to expand educational opportunity.
Teach for India is now recruiting in the UK allowing British Asians and others to get involved with this high-impact initiative that transforms lives and communities. Teach for Pakistan will be recruiting this autumn.
“As part of our mission to inspire the British Asian community to contribute to lasting change in South Asia, we promote strategies for donating time, as well as funds,” Abha Thorat-Shah explained. “ Teach for India and Teach for Pakistan offer exciting volunteer opportunities that benefit children in the poorest communities, as well as providing leadership experience.”
