Trust Helps Partner Reach More Migrant Children in India

vrishalipispati-hirananadan.pngReaching out to 150,000 children, Trust charity partner Mumbai Mobile Crèches has been running child care centres on the construction sites where their parents work since 1972. “Trust support has enabled us to continue our work for children who might not otherwise have access to education, health care or even just a safe space,” says MMC director Vrishali Pispati.

“With Trust funding, MMC has expanded from 24 to 30 centres, improved our educational programme and strengthened the scope and reach of our work,” she explains.

MMC’s director says that the Trust’s stringent due diligence requirements helps the organisation to develop within a framework of shared values and guidelines. “It has enabled us to be forward thinking,” she says. “We continue to improve existing systems, and develop new systems and documents in the areas of children protection, impact assessment and strategy,” says Vrishali.

Meeting the Trust’s aim to catalyze real and lasting change, MMC advocates for the rights of migrant children and serves as a model of quality child care to be replicated across construction sites.
