Head of Fundraising Elephant Family

About the British Asian Trust and Elephant Family

The British Asian Trust is an international development organisation, delivering high quality programmes in South Asia. Since our formation, we have impacted the lives of over 11.8 million people across India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka with high-impact interventions to address the subcontinent’s critical unmet needs in areas of livelihoods, mental health, education, child protection and conservation.

In 2021, Elephant Family merged with British Asian Trust, an alliance that marked an exciting step in the evolution of both charities. It brought together the best minds in conservation, management and philanthropy, to respond urgently to the staggering loss of habitat threatening Asia’s wildlife species and the communities who live alongside them.

Elephant Family is renowned for their unique and high profile events, which have been the foundation of the charity and will remain a key part of fundraising activities. Elephant Family has enjoyed a really successful few years, with the exceptional successes of The Animal Ball and the CoExistence Campaign raising millions of pounds for conservation programmes in Asia. We want to build on these successes, raise more funds and build bigger conservation programmes.

Role overview:

The Head of Fundraising will spearhead continued growth, focusing on developing a robust major donor programme, building on the strong events portfolio and securing continued corporate support. There is significant potential to be realised within the existing donor base of HNWI and UHNWI supporters. Corporate partners and sponsors are also a key source of income, and with such a strong and renowned brand, there is further scope to build effective partnerships.
