"We are extremely lucky to benefit from the vision, energy and passion that she brings to her work"

Richard Hawkes, Chief Executive of the British Asian Trust celebrates a key announcement during UK-India Week 2019.

I am absolutely delighted that my colleague Abha Thorat-Shah, Executive Director (Social Finance) at the British Asian Trust, has been included in the ‘100 Most Influential in UK-India Relations’ - an exclusive list of key influencers that enrich and help strengthen the UK-India relationship. Abha is one of the most talented colleagues I have worked with in more than 25 years in the international development sector.  We are extremely lucky to benefit from the vision, energy and passion that she brings to her work; attributes that every development organisation could be enriched by. And, as the person who has spearheaded our pioneering Education Development Impact Bond in India, she is genuinely leading and driving innovations that could transform the way Indian and UK organisations work together.  If anyone deserves to be recognised on this list it is Abha and I thank and congratulate India Inc for including her.
