England cricketer Ben Stokes joins hands with the British Asian Trust to end child labour

Ben Stokes

We are delighted that England and Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Ben Stokes has visited our projects in Jaipur, India, to show support for our campaign to end child labour in Jaipur.

Ben visited our local partners Taabar, a shelter home for rescued child labourers, and Gyan Ashram School. He had an interactive meet and greet with the students and watched a play, which is part of a wider awareness strategy. Impressed by the work that he witnessed, Stokes commented,

“I feel the people who are capable need to come together to achieve lasting and sustainable positive change for children, by reducing child labour. This will eventually help their families and community as whole. These kids are the future of tomorrow and it’s only logical that we try and create opportunities for them to lead life in a better way.”

We are most grateful to Ben Stokes for the personal interest he has taken in our initiative to help Jaipur become a model for child protection.
