I was visiting my family in India earlier this month to say welcome my new born niece and congratulate my sister and brother in law. I thought it would be a good opportunity to see some of the work that British Asian Trust is involved in and I requested the team to organise a visit to one of the schools in Delhi.

The school I visited was SDMC PTS Colony School in South Delhi which is a model example of how the partnership of an NGO should be with the Government. I was amazed to see the transformation that has happened in a short span of 2 years when I compared it with the older pictures of the school. I was impressed by the dedication of the team members, especially Mr. Amithabh and Nakul, who are working tirelessly to ensure that the standards of education and infrastructure remain as high as possible. I believe right education is the tool which empowers any society and is detrimental for a prosperous future of South Asia and no one should be deprived of it. We have abundance of talent in our countries and all these kids need is the right platform which is being provided by organisations like The Education Alliance (TEA) and the British Asian Trust. I am convinced that British Asian Trust will spread its footprint further and leave a lasting mark on the various fields they are operating in and am happy to play a small role in the transformation through my support.
