Asad Ahmad Journalist
As one of the BBC’s most recognised faces in London, Asad Ahmad has been presenting the news for BBC London television for over a decade. He has also reported from around the world and was awarded a Royal Television Society Award for his coverage from Pakistan following the devastating earthquake in 2005. Asad has enjoyed working both locally and nationally for the BBC, including several years as BBC Scotland’s first ever Asian news anchor on TV.
Speaking about his new role with the Trust, Asad said: “I see my home country of India and other Asian countries booming, yet at the same time levels of poverty fail to dwindle. The British Asian Trust is actively addressing this problem directly and so to be involved closely with the charity is important to me both personally and publically.”
