Monica Yunus Opera Singer
A rising star in the opera world, soprano Monica Yunus joins popstar Zayn Malik, music producer Naughty Boy, cricketing legend Kumar Sangakkara and popular TV presenter Konnie Huq, as an ambassador for the British Asian Trust.
The talented performer joins a host of well-known figures from the worlds of entertainment, business and sport, who champion the work of the Trust in the areas of Education, Livelihoods, Mental Health and Anti-trafficking in South Asia.
Widely acclaimed for her captivating voice, Monica is fast establishing herself as one of America’s promising young sopranos. She is also the Co-Founding Director of Sing For Hope, a charitable organisation based in New York with a mission to make the arts available to everyone.
Born in Chittagong, Bangladesh and raised in New Jersey, Ms. Yunus is the daughter of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Muhammad Yunus.
On joining the Trust as an ambassador, Monica said: “I am delighted to support the work of The British Asian Trust which transforms lives by supporting work on the ground in communities throughout South Asia.”
