Saad Awan Head of Events and Partnerships
Beginning his career with Islamic Relief, Saad managed various initiatives, including seasonal campaigns, volunteer programmes, fundraising events and television appeals. He led a delegate visit to drought-affected villages in North East Kenya, subsequently organising a UK events tour, raising over £500,000 to fund sustainable water and sanitation systems in villages across the region. His achievements during this period brought recognition from HRH The Prince of Wales at the Mosaic Talent Awards.
Saad’s first engagement with The British Asian Trust came as Associate Director of HRH’s Pakistan Recovery Fund, where he organised a charity Rugby match at Twickenham Stadium and a gala dinner at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office. That year, he also founded The White Table Dinner: an initiative that has since raised over £350,000 for victims of the Pakistan floods.
Saad has a keen interest in Education and currently serves as a Governor at Sarah Bonnell School. In previous roles with the East London Business Alliance and Business in the Community, he delivered a range of bespoke CSR programs in schools, working closely with senior leaders from Citigroup, KPMG, Pinsent Masons, the National Theatre and The US Embassy London.
