Suranjana Mullick

Suranjana works as a Development Assistant with the British Asian Trust's India team. For over three years, she was working in the humanitarian sector with a focus on disaster risk reduction and development.

She has completed her Bachelors, with Honours, in Geography from Loreto College, India and Masters in Disaster Management from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, India. She has also done a trimester on Global Environmental Issues at the University of Birmingham, UK.

Suranjana’s professional career started with United Way India Network, leading their environmental and education programmes in the state of West Bengal, India and handling different COVID-19 and disaster relief projects across states. Before joining the British Asian Trust, she was in charge of a global online programme in Disaster Management at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai in partnership with the  International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. She worked as a Programme Associate responsible for curriculum development, cohort and social media management among other things. She was also associated with Reliance Foundation, Environment Department of Govt. of West Bengal, Artsforward Events in partnership with Karo Sambhav and Earth Day Network on research-based studies.

She has a strong multi-sectoral background in programme management, research, reporting and documentation. Apart from being passionate about creating resilient communities, she is culturally inclined toward music and food.
