$100m Outcomes Fund
We are developing partnerships with investors, bilateral aid agencies, diaspora philanthropists, corporates, in-country leaders and civil society to co-develop our fund and enable the women and girls of South Asia to realise their true potential.
South Asia has the largest working-age population in the world and therefore vast development potential, yet currently only 28% of women in the region have a job or are looking for one. Through this Outcomes Fund we want to unlock the potential of women and girls.
Gender inequality
- Almost half of South Asia’s adult women are illiterate.
- Rates of violence against women remain among the highest in the world.
- It is estimated that closing gender gaps in employment and entrepreneurship in South Asia would help grow the South Asian economy by about 25% (IMF estimate).
Using robust data and performance management systems, we will focus on outcomes-focused approaches that are proven to have impact. We will build partnerships and use these to take those approaches to scale.
